Local Amusement Parks, County Fairs & Carnivals… 
They are fun, exciting, colorful, and sometimes a little scary.  
I am lucky enough to have always lived near what I think is a national gem -  Playland Park, in Rye, NY, which will be celebrating its 100th birthday in 3 years.  I absolutely loved going there as a kid, and still love going now with my family & friends.  I have also gone alone on several occasions to shoot photos.  For me, aside from simply liking being there, Playland has always been a way for me to cure photographer’s block (my version of writer’s block). There is no shortage of interesting subjects!  

But as I curated this collection of photos spanning from 2016 - 2025, I see what still draws me to it as I get older.  I love the bright & shiny rides & colors, but also the old and slightly creepy remnants of the past.  You feel the new and the old in a fun harmony.  I see families & friends making a point to create memories there year after year.  And I think about how everyone’s lives are changing as they pass through Playland, however, Playland hasn't changed much at all.  And I like that.
